A wheel alignment is a must to achieve maximum wear and performance out of your tyres.

When your tyres are correctly aligned - your car handles better. When combined with wheel balancing, a good wheel alignment will provide you with a smooth ride, not only reducing the chances of premature tyre wear but wear to other components too, including the brakes and suspension.

There are certain tyre wear issues that even brand-new tyres cannot avoid. A wheel alignment is considered to be an essential part of vehicle maintenance, which offers many benefits including:

Using the recommended factory specifications for your vehicle, a wheel alignment is the measurement, analysis and adjustment of your vehicle’s steering and suspension angles. Depending on the make and model of your vehicle, the method of adjustment may differ. However, a wheel alignment typically involves three key measurements that are used as targets of adjustment. These are;

• Caster
• Camber
• Toe

You can check your owner’s manual for information specific to the make and model of your vehicle. Generally, they will recommend a wheel alignment service every 10,000 km and whenever you have new tyres fitted to your vehicle.

There are often some very clear and easy-to-identify indicators that your vehicle may need a wheel alignment, which include:

• A sense that your vehicle is pulling to one side of the road.
• Your steering wheel starts to vibrate or shudder when driving at higher speeds.
